Check per approved checklist.
Correct tyre pressure and tread depth.
Adequate fuel & oil.
Brake indicator and light.
Safepak only. Max 12.5 kg per pannier.
Always keep panniers evenly balanced.
No mail in front carrier until first delivery
point – max 4.5kg.
Be seen. Be protected. Securely fastened
helmet is law.
Observe – Anticipate – React early.
Maintain buf fer zones and 3-second gap.
Avoid blind spots, and check your own.
Safe lane positioning – be seen.
Set-up your brakes for hazards.
Slow down and move away from threats.
Slow down in the wet – leave a bigger gap.
Observe all road rules.
Slow down for roundabouts.
Stop to deliver then check next address.
No ‘read-&-ride’. No letters in hand when riding.
Left hand delivery. Eyes up, scan for hazards.
Max 10kph on footpaths, but always appropriate
to conditions & circumstances. Slow down for
obstacles, hazards and people. Give way to
pedestrians. Watch for children and pets.
Beware reversing vehicles! Always check
before crossing. For better vision; Stop, go
wide or enter from road.
Park brake on, neutral gear. Avoid stretching
and leaning to letterboxes. Avoid twisting to
panniers. Change of posture is good for your body.
Avoid riding up or down gutters. Safer & easier on
your bike, and your body.
And new building developments so Post can try to
make your workplace safer.
